Woman Who was Blind in One Eye Healed!

Today (Sunday) started out as “one of those days.” I woke up late, and got lost trying to find a remote church. On the way to the remote church, the cashier at 7-11 managed to spill scalding coffee all over my hand. Everything inside me wanted to scream from all the pent up fatigue of ministry and culture shock.

Since I was already halfway to Tagum City, I decided to give up on finding that church and went ahead to visit a family there who had their father in the ICU of the public hospital from a motorcycle accident.

That’s when my day started getting better. I was able to not only pray for him, but one thing led to another under the favor of God and I was eventually wearing scrubs and a mask praying for all the children in the Pediatric ICU. I watched a mother’s eyes light up with joy when her infant diagnosed with pneumonia woke up and made eye contact with her. I cannot put into words the pain I saw throughout that ICU and the entire hospital.

This precious woman told me she was blind in her right eye from diabetes and requested prayer. As I prayed for her, Jesus healed her and she received her sight back!

On the way out of the hospital I felt led to go to a distant building which happened to be where many of the cancer patients stay. I ended up praying for about six of them. One of their visitors said she was blind in her right eye from diabetes and asked me to pray for her. After I prayed for her, she received her sight back! Hallelujah!

Many of these precious people are cancer patients and their visitors. I had the honor of praying for most of them.

Here I am writing this drinking a cold juice at a coffee shop (I learned my lesson earlier) in Tagum marveling at what God did today. It doesn’t matter how the day starts: It can still be a great day!

The United Prayer Rising Philippines

The United Prayer Rising is a huge worldwide prayer movement that unites believers to pray for their nation. Usually whenever there is an event of this magnitude, it is held in Manila. This event is unique that they felt the whole nation of believers should come together from everywhere in the Philippines to assemble in Davao City! They invited me to be part of the team to help put it together. Our whole message is to unite the nation in prayer. We will hold a conference September 8– 10 in an indoor stadium, and have a huge outdoor event on September 11, 2017. We are expecting multiple thousands to come. I truly believe this will be a nation changing event and I’m so excited to be a part of it.

Visiting the Badgao Tribe

I was recently invited to join a Chi Alpha missions team to minister to some of the poorest people in the Philippines– the Badgao Tribe. These are viewed as the untouchables here.

The people often beg in the streets in tattered clothes. We basically got to play with these wonderful kids and teach them about Jesus the whole time. It was wonderful. Even one of the team members had gotten in a motorcycle accident the day before and got healed of all pain when I prayed for him right there in the squatter village. Hallelujah!

Prayer for the Philippines

Last week despite the travel warnings, we drove four hours to Polomolok, South Cotabato to be part of a United Prayer Rising Event. About a thousand people (mostly youth) attended and prayed fervently for their nation. This was a preliminary event for the much bigger national prayer gathering in September. I am so amazed at this prayer movement and excited about what it will do for the Philippines. I am so excited to be a part of this move of God.

This Little Boy Was Healed!

One day after church, a father came up to me with his little boy named Reza Jhon and wanted to meet me. His son had a painful lump inside his head under his nose and it would sometimes cause severe nosebleeds. While all this was happening, the father was away from his son working in Malaysia. As a father myself, I cannot imagine the feeling his situation working in another country away from his sick little boy, but this is where it gets good. Someone brought him to the church last year while I was speaking and I prayed for him. After I prayed for him the pain and bleeding stopped and never came back! The father was so thankful for the miracle that when he arrived back in the Philippines he made a point of coming and thanking me personally for praying for Reza Jhon. I stopped him and said, “Please don’t thank me. Thank Jesus! Jesus is the one who healed your son!”
Hallelujah!

Not Your Typical Used Car Salesman

1978 Mitsubishi Lancer

This is my former 1978 Mitsubishi Lancer that we affectionately named “Sporty.” For the past six years, I have had many great memories with Sporty doing ministry trips and even using her as an ambulance during the toughest time of my life. We realized that buying parts for a 38 year old vehicle had grown to be too expensive for our meager missionary budget so I reluctantly decided to let her go.

In the Philippines they don’t put the same value on vintage vehicles as in the USA, so I had to sell her for only $1,500 to a nice man named Donnie who happens to live on the other side of the Island of Mindanao. He traveled 12 hours by bus to buy Sporty and fell in love with her the first time he saw her. Donnie had broken his forearm in a freak soccer accident and was not even able to drive at the time. When he finally was able to drive the car across the Island, he brought a mechanic friend with him to drive and help Sporty make the treacherous trip from Davao City to Iligan City.

I was getting all choked up yesterday as they were about to drive away and God reminded me that I had originally bought that cool-looking car to attract people, strike up conversation, and lead them to Jesus. I asked Donnie if I could pray for him before his trip and he agreed. Standing outside the car under the shade of a tree, I laid hands on his broken forearm and commanded the arm to be healed and the pain to go by the Stripes of Jesus and in the Name of Jesus! The pain immediately left Donnie’s arm! After that I asked the two men if they would like to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior and they instantly agreed. I had them repeat a prayer of repentance and salvation with me and their faces glowed with big smiles after they prayed. Donnie even thanked me today for praying for them after they safely reached Iligan City.

Praise God for his miracles and salvation!

We Baptized 109 People at One Time!

I was recently asked to preach on Water Baptism Sunday at Maranatha Family Church. Before the service our church had already scheduled to baptize 69 people at a nearby beach later that day. After I spoke the Holy Spirit convicted many people and they filled the altar. After that service, we set up at the beach for short service. We used part of our portable sound system there, and another 40 people decided to be baptized. I was so honored to baptize about one third of them personally. This is an amazing move of God and I’m excited to be a part of it.

I’m Going to Be on TV Soon!

MTV Spoiler

At the end of the year due to a host of difficult circumstances, Edge Radio stopped broadcasting to Davao City and closed its doors. I was so heartbroken that I sobbed through my last radio show saying goodbye to my listeners. It seemed that after five great years of broadcasting and thousands of souls hearing the Gospel that my media ministry was ending.  Just last week, I was unexpectedly invited to be a Video Jockey on a Christian music video show on two cable TV channels.

Two days later, I was being filmed on the set. After struggling through my lines for the first filming, I quickly realized that TV is a lot harder than radio, but I am so thankful for this challenge and opportunity to present the Gospel through television and music. I am excited for the platform this will provide to reach more people for Jesus especially among the youth! Please pray that this exciting new ministry is a successful blessing for the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Disciples Church

Jesus Disciples Church Worship

In February I had the honor of preaching in Jesus Disciples Church pastored by my friend Pastor Randy Maniquez. This young pastor is doing a wonderful work down a remote road just outside of Davao City.  In our service God healed many sick people. One lady received an instant healing in her back. She said after we prayed, it was the first time she was pain-free in six months! Glory to God!
