I have been keeping a very busy schedule for the past few weeks. In addition to my weekly radio shows on Edge Radio, I spent the past four weeks teaching at the Catalyst Youth Leadership Academy and was also involved in the Conquest Youth Camps in Davao. Catalyst is a summer intensive training and discipleship program for youth leaders started by Global Impact. I am honored that they invited me to be involved as a teacher in this great program. I was able to teach the Drama Elective, Evangelism, and Living a Successful Single Life. I taught them new powerful human video dramas for evangelistic purposes and equipped them to take them out to their communities, churches, and mission field. I’m hoping to post some videos of our drama creations on our website soon.
Going to the Visayas
My spiritual father and mentor, Dr. Jack Tuls is returning to the Philippines this week.
Dr. Jack and Grace Tuls are the founders of Remote Area Ministries and their purpose is to plant Bible schools in remote places all over the world. They currently have hundreds of schools started in several continents including many “closed nations.”
As many of you know I started my current missions ministry including my first trip to the Philippines traveling and serving Dr. Jack Tuls in many nations of the earth. We’ve traveled and ministered in Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Argentina, and Kazakhstan and transited through many other nations together. I really owe my mentorship and discipleship to this great man of God. I honestly don’t know if I would be a missionary today if it were not for his help.
We are so honored to have him back in the Philippines to teach Bible seminars and plant new schools in the Visayas (Central Philippines). We will be traveling with him to the cities of Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, and Masbate with the purpose of starting new Bible schools and strengthening the existing ones in these islands.
These are new places in the Philippines for us and we are so excited to minister and serve in these cities. We will take three flights and four boat trips on this missionary journey. It will cost us an additional $800 dollars to travel there in addition to our monthly budget. We really need both your prayers for safe travel and financial support.
Following Up the Youth
As a follow up to our recent youth retreat where many young homosexuals were saved, our team made a point to go and make a special visit to the church for their youth service. It was about a two hour hilly ride in the back of a multi-cab to reach their church in the remote town of Nabuntaran. I was fighting a sore throat, but I preached by faith on the topic of faith. The Lord really confirmed His Word as about twenty young people recommitted their lives to the Lord. Several others were filled with the Holy Spirit, and two young ladies were instantly healed of asthma! It was a powerful time.
It never ceases to amaze me that I can be fighting a sore throat and still see people healed when I pray for them. When we are weak, He is truly strong.
The youth also were also touched that we came to visit their church in their small town. They were happy that we didn’t just hold a retreat for them and later forget about them. Caring for new Christians is really the work of Jesus.
Love vs. Fear
When hearing of all the disturbing financial news worldwide, stories of natural disasters, and terrorism, or to face the financial needs of adding a new member to your family, it can be easy to slip into a state of fear.
I remember being taught my whole life that faith is the opposite of fear. While that might be true to some degree, the truth is that love is the opposite of fear and clearly the counteracting force against fear.
The Bible clearly states:
1 Tim 1:7 “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear…”
Once you clearly understand God’s perfect agape love for you, there is no way to continue dwelling in fear.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…”
Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
If you are facing fear right now, I declare a revelation of God’s love over your life. I pray that you will be consumed by a spirit of love, and power, and a sound mind to defeat any fear in your life.
